ACTIVE & PASSIVE, March 19th, 2013
Write one
sentence in the active voice and one in the passive voice using the verb begin.

1. The liturgical observation of Easter begins on the night of Holy Saturday. 2. On the night of Holy Saturday was begun the liturgical observation of Easter.
Living in Edmonton, one thing you never know is when spring really begins.
The wedding ceremony was already begun with the priest arriving at the altar and all the guests waiting in the church, but the groom's men suddenly found out that the ring was missing from the ring box.

OLIVIA: The first sentence is good; in the second one, you would use the past perfect in the active voice, so you need to rethink this sentence;-)
1. She begins her internship this May.
2. Her internship has begun.
