Bonus Grammar Question
This was heard on a flight announcement. The
first person to explain the error
and correct it gets an extra point! The use of mobile devices are now
permitted.

The word 'use ' is singular. Therefore, it should read "The use of mobile devices is now permitted." If you ever want to know if something is singular or plural, simply take out the noun and read the sentence. It doesn't make sense to say "the use of ... are permitted" ... rather it should say "the use of.....is permitted". - Sarah 177
