Phrase: This is the first month of the year after the holidays.

Dependent clause: This is the first month of the year since I started my job.

Independent clause: Where did the time go, this is the first month of the year!

Phrase: This is the first month of the year in 2014.

Depedent clause: This is the first month of the year since leaving my work.

Independent clause: I have trouble waking up early since this is the first month of the year after the holidays.

Dependent clause: This is the first month of the year for me to get organised.

Independent clause: I have made some resolutions in January as this is the first month of the year.

But, Doris, your 3rd sentence seems to be a comma splice.

Aman, I'm not sure "English calendar" is the proper description (as this calendar is used in many non-English speaking countries) -- perhaps "Western calendar" is more accurate.

In any case, the preposition should be "on" -- and don't forget to use an article:

"...on the [Western] calendar"
